From designers boycotting the Presidential family to celebrities taking to the streets to protest, since Donald Trump was elected into power, the fashion world have not remained quiet.
Now, the industry is coming together to support one of the causes at risk now Trump is in the White House, Planned Parenthood. The non-profit organisation that provides vital reproductive health services for people across the US and the world is at serious threat due to Trump’s move to reinstate the global gag order, and his notorious anti-abortion policies.
The CFDA (the Council of Fashion Designers of America) has partnered with Planned Parenthood to create an initiative called Fashion Stands with Planned Parenthood. Ahead of New York Fashion Week, they have created bright pink pins and distributed them to designers, models, PR agencies and influencers.
Each badge will come with an information card outlining the work Planned Parenthood do and how you can support them, and the initiative is encouraging people to share pictures of their badges with the hashtag #IStandWithPP.
Over 40 designers that have pledged their support including Proenza Schouler, Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenberg, Public School, Narciso Rodriguez, Tory Burch, Prabal Gurung, and Zac Posen.
