Everyone makes effort when dressing for a wedding - whether as a guest or in the bridal party - but when it comes to celebrities some would say there's such a thing as too much effort. Last year, Kendall Jenner was a bridesmaid for her friend Lauren Perez, and did an evening outfit change that included a rather risqué dress with diamond-shaped cut-outs. After Instagram blew up with comments, Jenner actually addressed her critics. According to People, Perez waded into a conversation on social media to defend the dress, saying: 'Tell em! SHE LOOKED STUNNING AND I LOVED IT!' Jenner herself then replied with, 'Obvi asked for your approval in advance too. We love a beach wedding.'
That seemed to put an end to that particular conversation, but she's not the only one who has ventured into 'upstaging' territory when it comes to a friend's big day.
To attend the wedding of Britney Spears and long term Sam Asghari, Paris Hilton opted for a floor length shimmering black cut-out gown with thigh high split. What would you expect from Paris Hilton! With Donatella Versace in attendance and Versace also creating Britney's custom wedding gown, it seemed only fitting that Paris' look was, of course, Versace, too. What with Kravis' Dolce and Gabbana Italian nuptials and Britney's Versace-clad guests, it seems bringing on board a fashion house dress your ceremony is the A-Listers way to do weddings this year!
And the bridesmaid wore... Vera Wang! Paris Hilton isn't the only one opting for a more 'controversial' wedding outfit. Earlier on this year Ariana Grande attended the Star Wars-themed wedding of her equally-famous brother Frankie Grande wearing a crop top and skirt with thigh-high split. While some may argue it's a little show-stopping for family nuptials, it did feel rather perfect for a fun-filled celeb wedding. The singer paired her lamé sculpted top and skirt with her signature half-up style accessorised with a bow - somewhat reminiscent of her own wedding day look (which was also created by Wang).
