People might come for the comedy on SNL, but another reason to stay is the style. Because among the outlandish costumes, wigs and fake glasses are some seriously great outfits when the host is known for being fashion with a capital F (ahem, Harry Styles). And for the series finale, the show pulled a blinder with Anya Taylor-Joy.
Law Roach, Taylor-Joy's image architect who was recently named 2021's most powerful stylist by The Hollywood Reporter, choreographed a spectacular series of looks, some of which had a '60s vibe that will have resonated with fans of The Queen's Gambit____. First Up, in what must have been an audience favourite, was sailor-style minidress, paired with thigh-high white boots, a gold-buttoned vintage number from '60s Courrèges that Roach pulled from his personal archive for the occasion.
Another kitschy look, which Taylor-Joy paired with the same ice blonde bouffant, was a baby pink and heart-print dress from Carolina Herrera. Her accessories - Christian Louboutin pumps, along with $45 earrings from Dadybones - were both a shade of bubblegum pink that brought to mind Malibu Barbie.
On the official poster, there was the cherry red tulle gown from Dior - a red carpet favourite with Taylor-Joy - and the actor also wore another tulle frock, this time something shorter and altogether spiker in flavour from Molly Goddard, later in the show. In another promotional shot, she's seen watering some flowerpots wearing a gingham crop top and shorts combo from Philosophy De Lorenzo Serafini, and a pair of optic white pumps by Christian Louboutin, as you do.

If you want to try and parlay these looks into your summer wardrobe, my advice would be to dig out some gingham and, if you're really feeling brave, a minidress or two. Add some stilettos, and even a half-up-half-down 'do, and you'll do a great ATJ.
