There have been many bags which have dominated Instagram, shopping baskets and, indeed, our hearts this year. Dior's 30 Montaigne bag, for instance, was the best thing since the fashion house's Saddle Bag comeback, while just this past weekend Fendi launched a scented Baguette. It seems fitting, then, that we should round off 2019 with another handbag hit, this time courtesy of Alexander McQueen.
The bag in question is The Story, a new style from the SS20 Pre-Collection. Available in several different colours, it's designed to be worn in multiple ways, meaning you can carry it as a top handle bag, wear as a cross-body or sling it over your shoulder.
Already, it's a hit. From Naomi Campbell and Charlize Theron to Selena Gomez and Kaia Gerber (who carried hers on a push scooter, no less), famous faces all over the world have been spotted with The Story, in khaki, red, fuchsia and black. The latter has been particularly popular, presumably thanks to its chic flash of red and ability to match with anything in your wardrobe.
At £1,650, it's obviously an investment. But this is certainly a handbag that will last forever and that you can use every day (and night). In fact, given that there are so many ways in which to wear it, you might never use another bag again.
