Gosh, wedding are nerve-wracking aren't they? All of those things to organise, guest lists, seating plans, the politics of it all! You want to invite your favourite people but, sadly, sometimes they come with your not-so-favourite people because they just so happen to have terrible taste in lovers. And then there are the friends who fall in love with Adele and bring her to your wedding while she's dressed in custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture. Don't you just hate it when that happens?
Adele, it has to be said, is not just a national treasure, she is beloved the world over. Oh sure, she's incredibly talented, but she's also a good time gal, which is probably why everyone loves her. Nobody says a bad word against Adele. She's the human embodiment of the avocado, or coffee – most people love it and, if they don't, they're probably not worth talking to.
All of this only made it more awkward when she attended the wedding of Anthony Davis, an American basketball player, with her boyfriend Rich Paul, and completely stole the show.
I mean firstly, there's the dress. It's Schiaparelli. Haute. Couture. It was made. for. her. I'm sorry, no bride can compete with that and particularly not this dress. Look at it. It's divine. I haven't even thought to Google what the bride, Marlen P, was wearing (sorry, I bet you looked great). It also happens to have been designed by Daniel Roseberry, the man responsible for some of this year's most epic fashion 'moments'. Go ahead and add Adele to that list.
Hang on, you might be thinking, this was a celeb wedding! I bet everyone was wearing amazing couture creations! Well, in various images on social media, Adele can be seen posing for photographs with... a woman in a black dress.
Well that's just one woman! Adele wouldn't knowingly upstage a bride in her (one more time, for the cheap seats in the back!) Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress. No, you're right she wouldn't, there were probably a whole group of extravagant dresses we just haven't seen yet.
Oh, what's that? A video of Adele twerking on the dance floor amid a group of women wearing... ah. Plain black dresses. And a black jumpsuit.
Hey, that's ok. Everyone knows it's the bride's da- oh no. Scrap that, because Adele's in the middle of the dancefloor and everyone's formed a group around her. And who's that over there? Oh that's another guest taking pictures with Adele and literally captioning them 'wow'. Another said: 'Very special to meet the legendary Adele. What a wonderful person she is.'
Let's hope the bride agrees.
SEE: Adele's Hair Evolution
2008: The Low Bun
It's easy to forget the colour transformation that Adele's hair has undergone, never mind the styles. We love this glossy auburn shade seen here at 2008's Brit Awards. Remember when Adele was all about that low bun taken slightly to the side and a deep side part?
2008: The Big Fringe
There's something so beautifully 60s about Adele's thick, glossy fringe here, and the volume styled in to give her height at the crown of her head. Attending 2008's Nationwide Mercury Prize event Adele loooks every inch the 60s siren.
2011: The Blonde(ish) Bombshell
And just like that Adele's hair colour changed! Pictured here in 2011 at the MTV Video Awards Adele's lightened up honey toned hair colour perks up her complexion no end, and with all that volume those 60s vibes are still very much present.
2011: Ponytail Game
Pictured performing at the same MTV Video Awards in 2011 Adele's hair team got to work in record time to bestow her with a long and luscious ponytail. We were in awe.
2012: The Grammy Awards Glamour
Who could forget Adele's epic Grammys spree in 2012? Her hair look errs more on the 40s and 50s side of things here with those glamorous Hollywood waves.
2015: The Effortless Look
Pictured signing autographs ahead of an appearance on BBC Radio 2 in 2015 Adele's hair proves it's got just as much style off the red carpet as on it - what we would give for that effortless glamour.
2016: Tousled Waves
We can see a few changes in Adele's hair look here at the 58th Grammy Awards in 2016. First of there's the colour, her hair has been lightened up towards the ends and through the sections that frame her face, it's a style many copied at the time. The volume in her do has been taken down a notch and tousled waves as opposed to large, glossy, Hollywood ones are the order of the day.
2016: The Bob
We were head over heels for this Brit Awards appearance back in 2016, just look at that bob! Softly blowdried lengths paired with sunkissed highlights, a match made in heaven.
2017: The Up Do
Let's turn our attention to the 59th Grammy Awards in 2017 and that up do. Have you ever seen anything so immaculately swirled? This one's definitely a pro only job, but we could look at it forever.
2020: The Curls
This next shot comes via Adele's Instagram page (follow here @adele). This shot appeared in praise of Beyoncé's latest release, but all we could look at were those curls. It remains to be seen whether they came by way of a tong, a perm or a bit of scrunching but we're all for it - and look how long Adele's hair has gotten too!
