Last summers languorous hot days feel like a distant memory as we look down at our chapped knuckles and see our breath making micro-clouds in the air. With the Beast from the East threatening snow this week it’s high time to get serious about the Alpine chill coming our way.
Retro intarsia seems like a cliche, ski coats certainly look and feel like overkill on public transport, so what is a girl to wear to work? Faux fur is high on our agenda. Add structure to those cuddly coats with the addition of a blazer or a pencil skirt. For the feet, the only option is boots, obviously. Taking cues from the runways of Ganni and Proenza Schouler, hiking boots are a very modern alternative to the ankle boot. For fellow non-traditionalists, try a patterned knee-high or a cowboy boot.
It will shock no one that the Scandinavian’s are masters at dressing for winter. So, look to influencers like Pernille Tiesbaek and Jeanette Madsen when inspiration fails. Well, that’s what we’ve done. Here are five outfits we are planning to copy from their cold weather playbook this week.
