2024 has been the year of Brat, putting singer Charli XCX in pole position as one of the most in-demand artists across the globe. In fact, her recently finished Sweat tour, co-hosted with Australian artist Troye Sivan, immediately sold out in Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco, according to Billboard magazine, with fans flooding to social media to share their experiences.
But it isn’t just Charli’s catchy lyrics or collabs with other artists that have caught our attention; it’s also her sense of style. Few other people would be caught wearing a white long-sleeve top and a matching pair of knickers, after all. So it makes sense that the singer has cashed in on her aesthetic, recently starring in campaigns for H&M, Skims and now, just in time for Christmas, Converse – a core defining shoe of the 2010s.
'I wear my Chucks so much they have holes in them, so I was really excited to work with Converse so I could get a new pair,’ shares Charli XCX, as evidenced by this snap of her wearing the navy trainers in November last year. She also describes the trainers with one of her now-famous taglines, ‘they’re iconic’.
Shot by Sharna Osborne, the Charli XCX Converse Christmas campaign is certainly striking. And we hope Charli will have a hole-free pair of Converse Chuck Taylors or perhaps another bestselling All Stars style sitting under her tree.
