Some people watch trains, others follow the football, our favourite pastime is studying what Victoria Beckham wears. Rainy days prove a fashion quandary to all but Victoria Beckham who brightened up the New York sidewalk yesterday in a vermilion suit with a sky blue shirt. To be fair, whatever the fashion occasion, Beckham has learnt to rely on those scarlet trousers. Kate Moss and Jennifer Lopez have also come out as supporters of this trend, ditching their skin-slick trousers for roomier styles.

With the weather as endlessly grey as it is, who can say no to this cheery colour anyway?
