Naomi Campbell Is Bringing Back The 2007 School Disco Look, And We’re Into It

Jeans and a nice top? Check. Choker? Check. Metallic platforms? Check.

As one of the most famous models the world has ever seen, Naomi Campbell is a trend-setter, always ahead of the curve. But attending her Fashion For Relief launch party at London’s Westfield last night, she took her look right back. Right back to 2009. (There, or thereabouts.)

And she looked incredible.

Looking the epitome of ‘jeans-and-a-nice-top’, Naomi pulled off indigo baggy roll-up jeans, with a black, billowing longline dress/top (no, we can’t decide which one it is either) and silver platform shoes - even though she was at a fancy fashion party, as opposed to a school disco.

The best part of her look though? In among more expensive looking jewellery, the supermodel looked like she’d visited Claire’s Accessories, with a matching black choker and bangle.

Beauty wise, instead of the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse and electric blue eyeshadow we used to wear back in the days, she finished the look with incredible, low-key make-up, including lashing of mascara and lipgloss.

While we are not sure we’d be able to pull the look off as well as Naomi{ =nofollow}, we think she might have started something. Why not swap sparkles and sequins at your office Christmas party for a baggy top, and even baggier jeans? (If you’ve not had a clearout in a while, you might even have them somewhere in the depths of your wardrobe. Win win.)

Naomi set up the charity, Fashion For Relief{ =nofollow}, in 2005 - and at the pop-up shop customers will be able to pick from pieces donated straight from the supermodel's own wardrobe, as well as from items donated by her famous friends. All funds raised will go towards education and employability programmes for young people, including the Mayor’s Fund for London.
