It's not confirmed, but we're already excited.

When Zendaya took to the red carpet of the Critics' Choice Awards earlier this month, she looked half supermodel, half warrior princess in a Tom Ford metallic crop top. So the idea of her grabbing a sword to take on Uma Thurman in a blockbuster sequel to Kill Bill has us genuinely excited. But is it actually happening?

IMDb - aka the Internet Movie Database - lists Kill Bill: Vol. 3 as a forthcoming project. The first two followed The Bride, a world-class assassin who traveled the world, seeking retribution against the people who shot her down at her own wedding rehearsal. One of those targets was Vernita Green, who had turned her back on murder in order to raise her daughter Nikki.

The new synopsis revisits this story: 'After witnessing the brutal murder of her mother at the hands of Beatrix (Uma Thurman), Nikki Bell (Zendaya) wreaks vengeance on the woman who destroyed her family at a young age.'

OK, that sounds amazing. After all, Beatrix did tell Nikki that she was welcome to come and find her when she was old enough. Before you get too excited, though, it's worth bearing in mind that no official casting announcements have been made: this could be wistful thinking on the part of a very imaginative Tarantino fan.

At the very least, we do know that director Quentin Tarantino does want to revisit the frachise. 'Well, I do have an idea of what I would do', he said last year. 'That was the whole thing, conquering that concept... exactly what's happened to The Bride since then, and what do I want to do. Because I wouldn't want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure. She doesn't deserve that!'

We will keep our fingers crossed that, whatever happens, Zendaya is open to joining the cast. We're already picturing the fuchsia tracksuit Zendaya could wear to face off with Uma Thurman.
