Well, this is all very confusing.
Since their alleged split last week, rumours of a reunion between Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have been circulating – mostly because of the cryptic signals Gigi is sending out on her social media accounts.
First, the supermodel was spotted out and about wearing her ‘G&Z’ pendant necklace despite the reported split, then the model posted a video on her SnapChat of her miming along to Zayn’s song Pillow Talk.
Over the weekend at the Maybelline New York Beauty Bash at the Line Hotel in LA, Gigi fuelled further rumours thanks to a quick fire interview with ELLE magazine, in which she referring to 'hanging out with her boyfriend.' All in all, she's not exactly behaving like someone who wants to avoid the subject of her paramour, thank you very much.
The on-again-off-again couple apparently called it a day for good last week after a month of back and forth after a ‘huge fight’ in April at Gigi’s birthday party.
So does this mean they’re still going strong? Or is Gigi trying to win Zayn back?
We’ll just have to keep watching their social media accounts and reading between the lines. Fun.

"During her birthday they were fighting," an insider told E! News. And apparently it's not the first time the former couple have hit a rough patch in their relationship. "[They have] broken up and got back together a few times."
But could their reported split be temporary?
"Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow," another source adds. "They been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along."
"Gigi is really sad about this though," the insider continues. "And in a way would like to work it out. It's more about that constant contact with Zayn that she misses and they did get very close." Who can forget their very loving display at the Met Gala last month, to mark their red carpet debut?
And last night, Gigi posted this romantic post on her Snapchat. Could this mean that a ZiZi make-up could be on the cards?

Earlier this month, a 'source' told Life & Style magazine that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid were on the verge of splitting. Now, the publication has claimed that Zayn 'recently called it quits with [Gigi] after weeks of squabbling,' adding: 'Zayn broke the news to Gigi two weeks after her birthday. He sat her down at dinner and told her how he felt. She is absolutely heartbroken and has been feeling really sad ever since.'
Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Such comments don't exactly tally up with Zigi's public appearances and social media presence. At the Met Gala earlier this month, the pair looked impossibly loved-up (despite the fact that Zayn turned up in a vaguely X Men inspired ensemble), and Gigi has since gushed about her relationship on Tonight With Jimmy Fallon. Would Gigi talk freely about her relationship on national television if she'd just been ditched? Probably not. Would Gigi post a ridiculously cute couple selfie to Instagram with the caption 'missing you' if she'd just had her heart stamped on by the ex-Directioner? We're guessing not. Would she tweet a link to Zayn's recent performance on The Voice accompanying with heart-eye emojis? Nope. You get the picture.
So, it looks like we can all breathe a sigh of relief, as everyone's favourite millenial love story appears to still be very much 'on.' Phew. We're off to re-watch the Pillowtalk video for the ten-thousandth time and order a 'lol ur not zayn malik' T-shirt from Etsy...

He's not always been so forthcoming when it comes to discussing his new relationship, but it seems like Zayn has finally confirmed his new love (about time, too, pal). In a phone interview with Zach Sang & The Gang, he was asked whether it was 'cool to have your girlfriend in the video?' Zayn’s response? ‘Uh, yeah. That was cool. It was something different… We enjoyed it. It was fun.’ Ah, the first recorded use of the collective pronoun. Be still, our beating hearts.

Chatting to Zane Lowe in his first broadcast interview since leaving One Direction, Zayn proved to be characteristically unforthcoming about his fledgling relationship. We’re not holding out for a Jenner-Styles-Malik-Hadid double date any time soon.

So far, so normal - but closer inspection of the paparazzi pictures showed that she’d ever so casually set a selfie of Zayn as her lock screen background. Smooth work, Gigi, and who are we to judge - after all, we’ve definitely had Zayn as our phone background before, and he doesn’t even know we exist.
