We are only 3 episodes into this season of Euphoria, but our Rue and Jules ship remains strong, despite the turbulence. However, fans will be surprised to know that the character of Jules (played by Hunter Schafer) we have all grown to love, could have been a very different character. The model turned actress appeared on the Divine Frequency podcastwith singer Lorde, where she admitted that the role of Jules was almost not to be for her. She revealed that she was torn between taking a leap of faith with acting or sticking with fashion.
She admitted, 'I never acted before Euphoria and it was not in my plan at all. I was really shy, I was only modelling in New York just really to be making some money and be in New York and around an industry that I wanted to work in [fashion].’
'But I couldn’t have dreamed of acting and I’d never been in an audition before. My agency said casting people had reached out and asked me to come in and read for this role for this HBO show, and I didn’t know what to think of it.'
She revealed that she just didn't think acting was for her, especially since she was set to go to school for fashion very soon. 'They asked me again and I ended up going in and kept getting called back which was really surprising,' she added. During the episode Lorde also questioned Hunter about how she relates to her character Jules, she confirmed, 'There’s a lot of me in it.' Hunter continued, 'Even Jules as a character in the first season, a lot of it was built off of my experiences or director Sam’s [Levinson] so it’s a bit of a mixture of both of us.'
Hunter has really encapsulated the role of Jules perfectly since season 1 and many couldn’t imagine another Jules. However, I think we can all relate to trying to find the right path in life; whether that’s a career, relationship or friendship. Furthermore, we are very glad she decided to take a chance with acting – and it was brave to step into the unknown. However, something tells us that this role will catapult her into whatever she wants, we wouldn’t be surprised if we see a Hunter Schafer design on the catwalk very soon…

Dominic opened up about their romance in the upcoming June/July 2022 issue of GQ, according to a preview from Page Six. The interview reportedly refers to Schafer as Fike’s girlfriend and revealed that the couple are 'very much in love.' Beforehand they kept their relationship under wraps - but now seem to be opening up a lot more to the press about it. According to Dominic, their relationship developed quickly whilst they were filming season two of HBO’s hit teen drama.
He told GQ, 'In those moments, your relationship is accelerated because you’re so vulnerable with someone, immediately. Which usually takes a long time.' He added, 'Some people fall in love, like, fucking months after they meet, or years after. We developed an attraction—it sped it up so fast. We just really got to know each other so quickly.'
