Penn Badgley is going to be a father of twins with his wife Domino Kirke! The pair announced they were expecting twins in February this year via Instagram, and now, like any father-to-be, Penn has spoken out about his excitement and apprehension at their growing brood.
On an episode of Call Her Daddy, Penn, who shares a stepson and a biological son with Domino Kirke said: 'My wife is a doula, so birth is a real big part of our world,' continuing 'So actually, when we thought we were just going to have one, and we were close to being like, ‘No, we're good’ and we were close. And then we decided, let’s try it,' adding that he was 'as ready as he’ll ever be.'
The You actor and producer continued: 'I think we thought one would be, you know, we know what it is, we have two, we’re surrounded by children and people having children,' he continued. 'I think we knew like yeah, this is gonna be a lot, but it felt like a known quantity. And then it was just like, "Oh, this is how it will be, very new."'
But who is Domino Kirke? Here's everything we know about the multi-talented doula and musician...
Who is Domino Kirke?
It turns out that Domino has some pretty creative parents. Her father, Simon Kirke, is a musician, who is the co-founder a drummer of Bad Company. Lorraine Kirke, her mother, owns a vintage shop and works as an interior decorator. Her middle sister Jemima Kirke is a painter and actor, best known as Jessa on Girls, and her youngest sister Lola is an actor, musician, and author.
As for Kirke, she studied to be a doula and reiki practitioner. She also co-founded Carriage House Birth, which provides services for pregnant women, and co-authored a book with Joanna Griffiths called Life After Birth: Portraits of Love and the Beauty of Parenthood. In fact, Amy Schumer was one of Domino's high-profile clients.
'Men are cool and whatever but women are fucking warriors and capable of anything,' Amy wrote on Instagram at the time. 'I was lucky enough to get to have a doula. Her name @domino_kirke @carriagehousebirth what do doulas do? I don't totally know. But what she did was make me and Chris feel totally secure and supported throughout my pregnancy and the birth process. I really recommend getting one if you can.'
Domino is a woman of many talents, and sings and acts alongside her doula career. Kirke studied classical piano and voice at LaGuardia High School and had a solo career in music until she fell pregnant at 25. She formed a band called DOMINO and, in 2017, released an album with Mark Ronson called Beyond Waves.

How did Domino Kirke meet Penn Badgley?
Clue - it wasn't on a dating app. Domino and Penn actually met in a meatball shop in New York. On her podcast Podcrushed, Domino explained the details of their meeting. 'Penn and I met at a meatball shop,' she said. 'I had never seen Gossip Girl, so I had no context for Penn.' Penn was sofa surfing at the time, and Domino offered him a room to rent in her apartment. 'I got his number because I was really interested in him living with me, and I thought he was cute,' she said. 'And it would have been nice to have a little winter, you know, fling with my roommate.'
Penn and Domino reportedly started dating in 2014, when they were spotted together out in New York City. The couple both share the Baha'i faith, which Penn said prepared him for marriage. 'I don’t think I could truly value human love until I developed divine love,' he told PEOPLE in 2018. '[Domino and I] very much had a romantic beginning, and I think that you discover in marriage that what sustains a marriage for decades—there are less and less people who can tell us this—but I think it has something to do with [divine] love.'
The pair got married in February 2017, in a small courthouse ceremony in Brooklyn, New York.
