If you haven’t already watched the entirety of Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle, then what have you been doing with your lockdown time? The show - ICYMI - sees a group of ‘super-swipers’ face their worst nightmare on a retreat in Mexico, when they’re told that, in order to win the $100,000 prize, they can’t have sex.
One of our favourite characters on the show was Chloe Veitch, the hilariously lovable Essex girl who won all of our hearts with lines such as ‘I’m not the brightest spark in the book’. Even though the show has only been on Netflix under two weeks, the 21-year-old already has nearly 1million followers on Instagram.
Speaking to the former beauty pageant queen, it seems like she’s always been destined to be on reality TV{
She says that somebody who worked in TV - who she met while she was a model on Channel 5’s Hair Wars - wanted to get her on US reality show The Bachelor, but, at the time, she was in a relationship. It was the same person who later told her about Too Hot To Handle. ‘A few months later, I split up with this fella,’ she says. ‘And I [got in touch with the producer], "Listen, I think I'm single now.” And they said, “I’ve got an opportunity for you, Chlo.” And I was like, “Oh, great. What is it?” And they explained it and I said sign me up.’
Obviously, though, they didn't tell her the no sex rule. But she says she would have still appeared on the show anyway. (Nicole{
Chloe is still single, but she says the show has changed her approach to dating. ‘I'm not going to go into it too much because I want to bore you,’ she laughs. ‘[The show has] definitely it's changed my approach, I respect myself a lot more.’
The reality star says she thinks she was 'portrayed really well' on the show - but she says the only thing she regrets is not pursuing things with Harry, who, now a year later is loved up with Francesca. ‘I spoke to Harry the other day, obviously he watched the show but he didn’t know that I’d said I fancy Harry. I think maybe I would pursue that a little bit more to see where that went.’ However, she adds, ‘Everything happens for a reason, I learnt some valuable lessons in there.’
So, what does she want to do next after being watched by millions? ‘I’d love to go into TV work,’ she says, ‘when I’m in front of the camera I just feel like I come alive.’ We feel like we’ll be seeing her on our screens soon enough.
