Taylor Swift fans don’t have too long to wait until her next album, after the singer dropped some unexpected news. She revealed that her new record, The Life Of A Showgirl, is available for ‘pre pre-order’, although the release date has yet to be revealed.
Taylor, 35, made the surprise announcement on the New Heights podcast, hosted by her American football player boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. ‘So I wanted to show you something,’ she said, holding up a vinyl album with its cover blurred. ‘This is my brand new album The Life Of A Showgirl.’ Travis exclaimed, ‘TS12!’
The Life Of A Showgirl is the Grammy-winning singer’s follow-up to The Tortured Poets Department, which sold 1.4 million copies on its first day in the US when it was released in 2024. It comes after Taylor – whose Eras tour broke records after becoming the highest grossing tour of all time and was the first to surpass $1 and $2 billion in revenue – bought the master recordings of her first six albums in May, giving her full control of all of her music after a six-year dispute with her former record label.
How do we pre pre-order Taylor Swift’s new album?
You can pre pre-order The Life Of A Showgirl on Taylor Swift's website. It is available in CD with a poster (£11.99), cassette (£16.99) and vinyl (£29.99). The album artwork and official release date will be revealed at a later date, although the website says that it will ship before 13 October, adding that this is not the release date.
What do we know about The Life Of A Showgirl so far?

Taylor Swift started hinting at new music in September 2024, five months after the release of The Tortured Poets Department, when she wore a necklace bearing her initials with the number 12. After concluding the Eras tour in December 2024, she continued to keep fans guessing about her next studio album, which was dubbed ‘TS12’. The pop star wore red earrings adorned with 12 jewels at the 2025 Grammy Awards and in her message to fans about her legal win, she included some Easter eggs, all to do with the number 12.
It's thought that the album will be showgirl-themed, as the title suggests, with rumours that Swedish producers Max Martin and Shellback could be involved. And with the colour orange playing a dominant part in the teasers so far, fans are predicting the album artwork could follow suit.
