Taylor Swift{
It comes after last week she accused record label owner Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta (who sold the record label to Borchetta) of banning her from performing her old songs at the American Music Awards.
In a statement posted to Twitter, the singer told how she was due to receive Artist of the Decade - but that Braun and Borchetta have banned her from performing her old hits. She also said she was denied permission to use her previous material on a Netflix documentary which she has been working on for two years.
Earlier this year Borchetta, who owns Swift's original label Big Machine Label Group, sold the rights to her previous material to Braun (who manages the career of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande).
Selena Gomez responded, saying that she doesn't care if there is 'retaliation' (Braun manages her ex-boyfriend, Bieber). She wrote on Instagram, 'My heart is so heavy right now. It makes me sick and extremely angry. (I don’t mind if there may be retaliation) this is my opinion. It’s greed, manipulation, and power. There is no heart or thought of anyone else. No respect for the words my friend has written since she was a 14-year-old in her bedroom. You’ve robbed and crushed one of our best song writers of our time an opportunity to celebrate all of her music with her fans and the world.'
Another of Taylor's friendsGigi Hadid supported her publicly, tweeting, 'Scott and Scooter, you know what the right thing to do is. Taylor and her fans deserve to celebrate the music!!'
Lily Allen also tweeted, ‘Solidarity with Taylor here, this sounds awful, and people wonder why music hasn’t had its #MeToo moment?’
