'We sat down, we ate junk food, fed our babies and talked. I can honestly say I feel like a huge weight has been lifted and I’m ready to face the public eye.’

It can be tough being a new mum and being a new mum in the public eye comes with its own particular set of challenges. Two mums who know this all too well are Stacey Solomon and Mrs Hinch, who recently bonded over a McDonald's and a cup of tea (proving that a Maccies and a chat really can help everyone).

Posting a black-and-white photo of the pair - and their kids - to Instagram, the influencer revealed her new friendship with the former X Factor contestant.

In the post, Mrs Hinch - real name Sophie Hinchcliffe - described how being catapulted into the public eye has made her anxious to leave the house, especially since giving birth to her two-month-old son, Ronnie. ‘Instagram and “fame” really does have its low points,’ she wrote. ‘I’ve been trolled , followed in my car by journalists, paparazzi waiting outside my house, false information printed about me and worst of all I’ve had my family and my baby pulled apart.’

But, even though Mrs Hinch didn’t let on she was struggling, mum-of-three Stacey Solomon messaged the social media star out of the blue - probably sensing that dealing with fame, and a new baby, might be overwhelming. ‘One day I received a message from this amazing woman, simply asking me if I’m ok,’ Sophie continued. ‘It’s like she just knew I wasn’t. Even though I hadn’t made this apparent to anyone.’

‘Stacey, like me, is just a normal person,’ she added. ‘A mum simply trying to do her best in life. She turned up at my house with her beautiful baby Rex in one arm and McDonald’s in the other for us both.’

And, whether you’re in the public eye or not, the post proved that, sometimes, all you need is friends to share your worries with (over junk food). ‘We sat down, we ate junk food, fed our babies and talked,’ Sophie finished the post. ‘I can honestly say I feel like a huge weight has been lifted and I’m ready to face the public eye.’
