Spice Girlsannounced they were reuniting for their highly anticipated Spice World 2019 tour last year. Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton confirmed they will be taking to the stage this summer, but one member will sadly be missing – Victoria Beckham.
However, Mel C – who was known as Sporty Spice in the group – has invited X Factor runner up Saara Alto to fill in for VB on their string of concerts.
The singer posed the question to the 45-year-old singer. Speaking to Mel, Saara said: “I was thinking, could I be the sixth Spice Girl?”
To which Mel responded: “You can be the fifth one if you want. Well, there's always room for another great singer. I can say that.”
An excited Saara was left in shock over the proposition. She toldThe Sun{
Victoria – who has sons Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and daughter Harper with husband David Beckham – has bowed out of performing to focus on her designer fashion label.
However, Mel B – also known as Scary Spice – insists Posh Spice will join the foursome on stage.
Speaking previously, the Wannabe hitmaker said: “I still think Victoria may actually join us at some point, but that's just me. I'm the eternal optimist. I'm very respectful of the fact she is incredibly busy with her fashion empire and it's not the right time for her, but I have a sneaking suspicion she will see the fun we're having and - well, maybe I shouldn't say any more.”
Spice Girls fans were quick to snatch up tickets for the Spice World Tour, as the first batch sold out within minutes. And the lucky ticket-holders will not be let down, as the iconic nineties group have insisted they will “blow” the audience away with their show as rehearsals are already underway to make it an unmissable event.
Mel B previously gushed: “We want to blow the fans away to thank them for their loyalty and support. I actually cannot wait to get into my leopard print catsuits and rip up the stage."
But will Victoria return to spice up our life? We hope so!
