It's many people's idea of a nightmare, getting stuck in a lift. Because, think about it: the waiting, the wondering (if you'll ever get out), the claustrophobia, the panic... Our palms are sweating already, intensely. YOURS?!
Yes, it's our idea of a nightmare. So you can imagine how sorry we felt for Sarah Jessica Parker when she had to endure 12 minutes of trappedness [sic] from within the cramped confines of a lift. TWELEVE MINUTES. We've walked up 12 flights of stairs quicker.
Providing a running commentary of her experience through a video posted to Instagram, SJP told her 3.1m followers, 'Currently stuck in an elevator for 11 minutes now, 12 minutes. Everybody's working hard. We not panicked...[a new video cuts in] We remain stuck but we have food, water, charged phones, excellent company, we've met new people, and we're very hopeful – but we do have to be some place in about 45 minutes...'
Whilst she gave no indication as to where she was trapped in New York, her reference to the 'new people' she'd met clearly showed she wasn't alone, and her 'food, water, charged phones... we're very hopeful' comment, suggested too, she was in good spirits. Which actually, is just what we'd expect from SJP – to see the positive in something terrifying.
We're taking our hats off to her immediately – or rather, our shoes (she's Carrie 'Manolo Blahnik' Bradshaw after all!).
