It’s been no secret at Grazia: but our favourite Islander this year has been Shaughna Phillips. (As Grazia’s Hattie Crisell wrote, ‘This funny, outspoken Love Islander has stolen our hearts, even if she hasn’t managed to locate Callum’s.’) And now, we regret to inform you - in case you missed it, because Valentine’s Day - that Shaughna has been dumped from the villa. She was kicked out after Luke M picked Demi over Shaughna, even though Shaughna has only just admitted her feelings for Luke.

WHY THOUGH?! We are honestly heartbroken. Are we even going to continue watching it? (The answer is, most likely, yes...)

It’s safe to say the democratic services officer hasn’t had the easiest ride in the villa. She was left heartbroken when Callum - who she had been coupled up with since the start - ditched her for Molly during Casa Amor. And since then, she’s been single. She wasn’t interested in new guy Jamie, even though he took her for a date, and then she realised she had feelings for Luke M - who then picked Demi in tonight’s shock recoupling.

After leaving the villa, she was candid, talking about her feelings for Callum, Luke M and, of course, Paige.

Speaking about Callum, she admitted that 'Initially I was physically attracted to him. He had a nice energy about him, which he still does have…' but she said he wasn't a person she could see being with long-term. Her family, she said, would have warned her against him. 'My family would have liked him to begin with and then he would have definitely worn my mum thin. He definitely would have rubbed her up the wrong way. Just by not being very affectionate towards me, not ever really putting me first. Every mum wants that for their daughter.'

She admitted that seeing Callum return from Casa Amor with Molly hurt, even though she was expecting it. ' She was gorgeous,' she said. 'That was obviously the first thought.'

Then, as we all know, her thoughts slowly turned to Luke M: 'I didn’t know I fancied him at first, but I knew there was something there. And it was definitely the "Snog, Marry, Pie" challenge when he didn’t marry me, I was thinking, "I was expecting you to marry me, why didn’t you marry me?". That was kind of our running joke.

'If I had my time again I’d definitely have ditched Callum sooner than Casa Amor, which would then have left me with some "openness" and then I’d have probably noticed I liked Luke M a lot sooner than I did.'

Will she see Luke outside the villa? 'I’m definitely going to remain friends with everyone in there. I’m more than happy to carry on talking to him. Obviously depending on how things go with Demi ... They are two of the loveliest people I’ve ever met. They’re two very good looking people and they’re honestly such sweethearts so I can only imagine those two going on to do good things.'

The best, most romantic thing about her Love Island experience has nothing to do with men, interestingly enough.

'I have literally found love in Love Island,' she said, 'and it is with my Paige.'
