After a pretty tense week in the villa, the Love Islanders (and us as well to be honest) could use a bit of a party. So, it’s a pretty good thing that Sean Paul will be entering the villa this weekend.

But it might be the international star who could be starstruck when he meets the islanders, and one in particular: Shaughna. The 25-year-old Londoner is the singer’s favourite 'because her name is the closest to mine!' He told ITV ahead of the Spotify party he’ll be throwing in Cape Town, 'I love that she’s real and loyal, even when Callum dissed her, she never flip up.'

Shaughna Phillips has become a fan-favourite not just for her brilliant one-liners and no-nonsense attitude but also for her ambitions beyond the show. Her woes with love interest Callum have also got people rooting for her. A party hosted by Sean Paul could be just the thing she needs.

'I’m just hoping the Islanders get loose and have a great time! There’s already been so much drama, I just wanna create a relaxed vibe and take their minds off it.'

At the party, Sean Paul will be launching his new single Calling on Me which features Tove Lo and is according to Sean, a song about a 'deeper emotional connection'. A song to soundtrack Love Island perhaps? Or perhaps Temperature 'because that house seems to have a varied weather pattern…' Or maybe Like Glue 'because the winner is gonna have to stick to his girl like glue.' (Though the fates of previous couples post-Island would suggest otherwise… we like your optimism Sean!)

Sean also revealed the romantic songs on his playlist, including his own 'Still in Love' and 'When It Comes to You.' He’s also a fan of Alicia Keys 'No One' and of course, Marvin Gaye’s 'Let’s Get it On'. 'You can’t go wrong with a classic,' he said. The artist could have some sage words of advice for the Islanders too:

'You don’t search for love, it smacks you in the face, it trips you off your feet. It takes you by surprise. Don’t trust technology, trust the butterflies. Love is a feeling, it’s not something that should be caged in a word.'

Could be useful to keep in mind in the run-up to Valentines Day. But before then: it’s party time in the Love Island villa, the couples are going to have to match Sean Paul’s energy.

'I really love performing and getting energy from my fans, that’s what keeps me going so I’m relying on the Love Islanders to gimme some vibes!'
