You might have seen the headlines this morning: Pop queen Shakira has allegedly - it's important we use the word allegedly here, in case we get sued - been attacked and robbed by a pair of wild boars. The singer was with her eight-year-old son in Barcelona, when she uploaded Instagram stories showing the state of her handbag.
'Look at how two wild boar which attacked me in the park have left my bag,' she said. 'They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it. They've destroyed everything.' With her son, she then added: 'Milan tell the truth. Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar.'
Shakira is one of the most famous victims of the wild boars, who have been causing a nuisance in the city. According to BBC News, in 2016, Spanish police received 1,187 phone calls about the wild animals, who according to the site, have been causing chaos, running into cars and attacking other animals.
But it's also not the first time the superstar has been hassled by an animal. Shakira was nearly bitten by a sea lion back in 2012. She even wrote a blog post about it on Facebook, titled 'Special report: Attacked by a sea lion'. In the post, which included a photo of a cut on her hand, she said the animals 'got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury'. She added: 'My brother "Super Tony"jumped over me and literally saved my life, taking me away from the beast.'
Shakira continued, explaining why she thought the attack took place (and it's quite the throwback). 'I believe what happened is that it confused the shiny reflection of the BlackBerry I was taking these pics [sic] with, with some sort of fish. It probably thought I was teasing it with food and then taking it away from it.'
Maybe it's best not to invite Shakira as a plus one on holiday, then.
