Now in its eighth series (yes really!) Selling Sunset has become an absolute staple of our Netflix viewing and after all the years we've started to see the cast members like Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald and Emma Hernan as our pals, albeit very glamorous ones.
Every series we see all of The Oppenheim Group kick some serious butt when it comes to real estate, but it turns out that not all of the cast started out in property. Most of the women starting their careers in the equally glamorous industries of fashion and entertainment (no wonder they’ve always looked so well put together, then).
To celebrate the launch of the new series on 6 September on Netflix, we take a look at the lives of the Selling Sunset cast before they joined the reality show and what they're up to now. (Hint: Chrishell Stause has always been the most famous.)
Selling Sunset Cast: Before and After
Chrishell Stause - who was married to This Is Us star Justin Hartley - has been our TVs since 2005, when she started off her career as a soap star. One of her best known roles came starring as Amanda Dillon on the soap opera All My Children from 2005 to 2011.
Chrishell Stause is now worth a nice £6million after making the career change. Jealous? Us? She is now married to singer G Flip after a failed romance with her boss and co-star Jason Oppenheim.
Mary Fitzgerald has been working as an estate agent since 2008 - and if you glance through her Instagram, you'll see that she's been long committed to a glamorous red-lip/leather jacket look.
The red lipstick remains! Mary Fitzgerald returned to Los Angeles in 2014 to join The Oppenheim Group - and, you guessed it, is also now a millionaire. Across the many series of Selling Sunset we've seen Mary navigate the breakdown of her friendship with Christine Quinn, get married to Romain Bonnet and navigate the egg freezing process.
Amanza Smith specialised as an interior designer for eight years before becoming an estate agent, meaning she used to stage homes for The Oppenheim Group. She was also married to former NFL player Ralph Brown, but they separated when her two children were one and two years old.
We first met Amanza Smith during series two of Selling Sunset, but she has been friends with the Oppenheim twins Jason and Brett for over twenty years. She's estimated to be worth £1million.
Recently Amanda opened up about being diagnosed with osteomyelitis in early June 2023.
Prior to becoming a realtor on Selling Sunset, Emma Hernan was a model. We've also heard a lot about her frozen food brand Emma Leigh & Co - which she set up in 2020 - since she joined the series, but she's actually always been a bit of an entrepreneur and has since invested in her grandfather's seafood business Yankee Trader Seafood.
Emma Hernan joined Selling Sunset for series four and has been delighting fans ever since. Prior to starring on the show though, Emma was already a member of The Oppenheim Group, having joined the company in 2019 shortly after getting her realtor's license.
The oldest picture of Chelsea Lazkani pre Selling Sunset is only dated 2017, but it's clear that the realtor has always enjoyed her life of luxury. Chelsea had five years of experience in the LA market prior to joining The Oppenheim Group in 2021, meaning Chelsea has been working in the industry for a long time. No wonder she's so good!
Series five of Selling Sunset was a great series, mainly because it was the first time Queen Chelsea Lazkani graced us with her presence. Chelsea has been married to her husband Jeff Lazkani since 2017 and has since welcomed two children - son, Maddox, and daughter, Melia - with him.
Although she's only recently joined the cast of Selling Sunset, Nicole Young is one of the OG members of The Oppenheim Group, joining the company in 2014 - and of course Mary Fitzgerald's OG BFF.
Nicole Young may have only been on Selling Sunset for a year, but she's already brought plenty of the drama and tbh we're here for it! Nicole has been married to husband Brandon Young since 2017 - we wonder if he'll be appearing on the show in series seven?
Bre Tiesi began her career as a model and eventually became a reality TV star starring in shows such as Nick Cannon's Wild n' Out, where she met her future baby daddy Nick Cannon.
Bre Tiesi first appeared on Selling Sunset in series six after making the transition from model to real estate. Bre got her realtor's license in 2017 and began working as a realtor full time in 2020. In June 2022, Bre became a mum to Legendary Love Cannon, who she shares with comedian Nick Cannon.
Oh, the days of these Instagram edits! Heather Young actually started her career at 18 as a model, and has done shoots for publications such as Playboy in the past.
Now 36, not only is Heather Young now worth a nice £3million from selling homes to celebrities, but Heather is also married to her 'soulmate' Tarek El Moussa - with whom she welcomed son Tristan in January 2023.
Just like us, in 2012 Davina Potratz was fan of a retro-looking Instagram filter. And just like most of her colleagues, Davina started out in entertainment - so she's always been perfect for the show.
Davina Potratz is now worth £2million, but part of that pay cheque won't be coming from appearing on Selling Sunset because Davina left the series earlier this year.
Christine Quinn has wiped all evidence of herself from before the show from the internet, but we're guessing as she started in the entertainment industry, and featured in Vogue, that she has always looked this glam.
But Christine Quinn's style has changed a lot over the seasons, something she's spoken about with Grazia. 'I am pretty extra and over the top, you know whether cameras are there or not,' she said. 'Every time that I'm out of the house, I love to dress up and I have so much fun with my fashion. I've loved putting more time and money into my wardrobe for the last two seasons which I really wasn't able to do as much in season one. It takes a lot of money to look this cheap! If someone says, "You look like a stripper", I'll say thank you.'We cannot stress how much we love her. She is now worth around £3 million but again, like Davina, she won't be making any more money from Selling Sunset after leaving the show last year. In 2021 Christine welcomed her first child with husband Christian Richard.
Maya Sander wass one of the most private members of Selling Sunset - her husband didn't appear on the show and we don't actually know how old she is.
Worth an estimated £1 million, Maya Vander left Selling Sunset at the same time as Christine. She's currently a mum of three after welcoming her second daughter Emma Reign in May 2023 with husband David Miller.
