Made in Chelsea star and radio presenterSam Thompson appears to be moving on from his ex Zara McDermott, a former Love Islander, with someone else from the exact same reality series. It comes shortly after McDermott confirmed her romance with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson after they were spotted kissing and holding hands in Malibu.
Despite posting each other on social media in mid-December, by the end of the month reports suggested that Sam and Zara had secretly broken up. Now it looks like they're both moving on, with reports stating he spent the Easter weekend with Love Island star, Samie Elishi. The pair were then pictured dancing (and kissing) at Olivia Attwood's birthday party, which inevitably got people talking.
A source told The Sun: ‘Sam found the split and its public fall-out very hard, but Samie has put a smile back on his face.'
Is Sam Thompson dating Samie Elishi?
Sam would have first met Samie through his presenting job on the series' spin-off, Aftersun. Now sources tell MailOnline that since his breakup with Zara, who he started dating in 2019, he and Samie have been exchanging flirty messages.
'Sam and Samie are really getting along and if early signs are anything to go by, this could turn into a long-term relationship,' a source told MailOnline. 'It may be early days still, but they do really like each other. Sam is already introducing Samie to Chelsea by showing her off on the King's Road over the Easter weekend and given how popular he is in the area, it meant a lot that he wasn't hiding her away.'
Did Samie Elishi confirm that she's dating Sam Thompson?
To add fuel to the romance rumours, Samie recently appeared on We Talk To The Dead tarot podcast where the medium Chloe Smith told Samie that the card drawn depicts 'falling in love and being swept off your feet' and that somebody good was entering her life.
Later on in the episode, Samie was asked about whether she trusted her 'gut feeling' and she responded, 'I've had like, a couple of relationships, where I've known it was never "it". Like, I have something telling me every day this is gonna come to an end, like this isn't for you.'
She then admitted that she's seeing someone new and when Chloe asked her if he could be 'The One' she said, 'There's been no bad stuff, So, yeah. I suppose it is all positive right now. It's early days.'
Has Samie Elishi met Pete Wicks?
Of course, anyone who dates Sam will need to be approved by his right hand man, Pete Wicks. A source told The Sun that Samie already has his blessing. 'The biggest test came on Saturday night at Olivia's birthday party when Samie met Sam's best friend Pete for the first time.' Adding, 'But Pete absolutely loves Samie for Sam and thinks they really suit, which has only brought them closer together.'
Why did Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott break up?
Sam and Zara first met back in 2019, when the former Love Islander slid into Sam’s DMs. The pair's quickly amassed a loyal fan base, viral videos galore, and one cheating scandal over their years together. The couple were last seen together back in December for Zara’s birthday, with Sam dubbing her his ‘soulmate’ and ‘best friend.’
However, by New Year, things had reportedly ended. The couple spent New Year’s Eve separately, with Sam celebrating at London’s Kensington Roof Gardens with his former Made In Chelsea co-stars – including Reza Amiri-Garroussi and Josh Patterson. Meanwhile, reports alleged that Zara spent her New Year’s at home with the couple's two cats, Albus and Cedric.
In January, Thompson addressed the split on his podcast Staying Relevant with Pete Wicks. 'It was tough. It’s been a tough month. A real tough month,' he said.
A source at the time of their split told MailOnline: 'Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It's been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other. But after a tough year of working hard at their romance, they have split and will be focusing on their individual careers going forward into 2025.'
