It’s been seven months since Jennifer Lopez got engaged to A-Rod, and it seems JLo has been doing a little research about how to make her upcoming marriage a success. The singer has gone to none other than Ruth Bader Ginsburg for advice, and the Supreme Court Justice didn’t disappoint.
Speaking at the Library of Congress’s National Book Festival in Washington, Ginsburg told the audience the whole story.
‘I was called up about a month or so ago by Jennifer Lopez, and she said she would like to meet me and introduce her fiancé Alex Rodriguez. So they came to chambers, and we had a very nice visit. She mostly wanted to ask if I had any secret about a happy marriage. But now A-Rod is traveling with her to concerts all over the world...’
The interviewer then asked; ‘So what was your secret to a happy marriage? Did you pass on your mother-in-law's secret?’
‘Yeah, on the day I was married, my mother-in-law took me aside and said she wanted to tell me what was the secret of a happy marriage. And I said I'd be glad to hear what is it, and she responded it helps sometimes to be a little deaf.’
RBG fans will know that she was married to Marty Ginsburg for more than 50 years, until his death in 2010. Their love story and their side-by-side fight for equality formed the basis of age 2018 biographical legal drama On The Basis Of Sex.
