A new royal portrait of The Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George has been released to mark the start of the new decade. The picture of the Queen alongside her three heirs was taken in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace just before Christmas at her annual royal family lunch.

The Queen wears a smart white dress along, accessorised with pearls andone of her famous black Launer handbags. Meanwhile, in the photo captured by photographer Ranald Mackechnie, the Prince of Wales andDuke of Cambridgelook smart in navy suits and smiles on their faces.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's son Prince George flashes a smile in a white collared shirt and tartan trousers, complete with a pair of smart shoes for the occasion.

It was taken on the same day as another snap shared to Kensington Palace's Instagram page, which sees Prince George preparing 'special Christmas puddings' as part of the launch of the Royal British Legion's ‘Together at Christmas’ initiative.

This is the second official portrait of the four royals together. The first was taken to celebrate the monarch's 90th birthday in April 2016, and subsequently used on commemorative stamps released by the Royal Mail.
