'I’ve spent years following the path my family set for me, now I choose desire over duty', Romeo Alejandro David Baldwin told Ruby, the off-limits commoner he had been secretly lusting over for months.
The name was announced yesterday, when Hilaria Baldwin posted a (admittedly v. cute) image of the newborn on Instagram, confirming his name Romeo Alejandro David Baldwin.
Weighing 8 pounds and 2 ounces, Romeo is Alec and Hilaria’s fourth child, all of whom are under five years old. Not only did Hilaria share Romeo’s name with the world, she shared her post-partum body in an effort to normalize the image.
She told followers, ‘I took this photo, Friday, the morning after this new baby was born. My purpose here is to normalize the postpartum figure and over the next days, weeks, and months, show you how I strengthen my body and return to my non-pregnant self.’
Hoping to inspire women to love their bodies throughout the entire process of post-pregnancy, she continued, ‘We all come in different shapes, sizes, and health experiences...but given the right love and care, we can feel really good within our skin. We just have to be patient and kind with our bodies.’
Posting her last two postpartum photos on her Instagram story, she maintained, ‘they are not glamorous, there is no filter, and I have a super sleepy face...but they are part of my real journey. I have so much respect and admiration for the human body...I hope that intention shines through and we can inspire each other to be healthier and happier.’
Her post has been praised online, given her status as a fitness fanatic, for allowing women to understand that everybody postpartum is natural and not to feel the pressure to lose weight or go back to your version of ‘normal’ straight away.
