The I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here finale saw many a shocking moment last night. Whether it was Jacqueline Jossa having to hold a spider in her mouth or the fact Andy Whyment didn’t win the whole thing, fans were in for some shocks. But the most outrageous of all? Roman Kemp appeared to be left alone when he made his long-awaited walk across the jungle bridge and no one was there to greet him.
In fact, the very fact we didn’t see a hug from girlfriend or at least a high five from one of the many Kemp’s he’s related to sent Twitter into a frenzy. So much so an entire Twitter moment was created to document the outrage.
‘EXCUSE ME WHY WAS THERE NO ONE THERE TO GREET ROMAN?!?!!’ one fan tweeted, with another adding a meme of Forest Gump running to his aid. ‘No one met roman at the end of the bridge? I’m sure the majority of lass’s in the uk would of #ImACeleb [sic],’ another viewer added.
Yes, it seems many were offering themselves up for the typically emotional moment – but alas, they would be fighting with his girlfriend for the first hug. Because, it turns out, Kemp’s partner Anne-Sophie Flury was actually at the end of the bridge waiting for him. Why didn’t we see her then? Well, apparently her scene was cut.
Confirming it on Instagram this morning, Flury shared a picture of a fan asking why she would miss her boyfriend’s big coming out saying ‘I was there – scene was cut. Kind of glad cause I had far too many frozen margaritas last night.’
But don’t shed any tears too soon as we’ll see their reunion on the jungle after-show this week. What we will miss, however, is the family reunion we all really want to see: that is, with the rest of the Kemps. Martin Kemp is yet to fly out to Australia and has only been able to support his son on social media so far.
