It’s Possible That Robert Pattinson Has Been Taking Method Acting Too Far

Makers of the new Batman film are probably hoping R-Patz doesn’t try any wild method acting techniques on set - because the actor has just revealed some of the more unconventional (read: disgusting) things he did while prepping for his latest role.

The Twilight star recently admitted that he ate mud and ‘pissed his pants’ in order to get into character for his part as lighthouse apprentice Ephraim Winslow in new movie The Lighthouse, which stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson as two 19th century lighthouse keepers, who descend into madness in their isolation.

‘Because you’re playing a mad person, it means you can sort of be mad the whole time,’ Robert told Esquire. ‘Well, not the whole time, but for like an hour before the scene. You can literally just be sitting on the floor growling and licking up puddles of mud.’

‘It was crazy,’ Robert continued. ‘I spent so much time making myself throw up. Pissing my pants. It’s the most revolting thing. I don’t know, maybe it’s really annoying.’

The star added that he was basically unconscious for scenes where his character was supposed to be drunk on kerosene.

After The Lighthouse, Robert Pattinson will be starring as Batman, which is due out in 2021.

Hopefully, he'll get some awards for his dedication to the role of the lighthouse apprentice.

The Lighthouse is in previews at selected cinemas now, and on general release from the 31 January, 2020.
