He's totally cool with that time Kristen Stewart cheated on him, because it's what young people do, apparently...

There are quite a lot of differences between Robert Pattinson and those Geordie Shore stars that he adores so much, but one that strikes us today is that he’ll talk about being cheated on to the press, but only after enough time has passed that he feels no resentment or bitterness towards his ex, Kristen Stewart.

Rob must have been asked a million times about Kristen in the two years that have passed since his Twilight co-star made that very public confession that she had cheated on him with film director Rupert Sanders. That, or he’s had his people ban interviewers from mentioning it. But now he’s ready to talk about it:

‘Shit happens, you know? It’s just young people, it’s normal. And honestly, who gives a shit?’ he told Esquire. ‘The hardest part was talking about it afterwards. Because when you talk about other people, it affects them in ways you can’t predict.’

And then, in a way we couldn’t quite predict, Rob went off on quite the tangent in the interview, referencing a particular scene in niche indie film Doubt, which stars Meryl Streep, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams playing members of the clergy mixed up in a scandal: ‘It’s like that scene in Doubt, where the character is talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and you’ve got to go and collect all the feathers.’

He’s not all meta and thoughtful and let’s-watch-this-plastic-bag-dance-in-the-wind though, as he’s totally ready to talk about his visceral sex scenes with Julianne Moore in Maps To The Stars – presumably because they’re not dating IRL.

‘I noticed I was sweating. Like really heavy sweat. I remember trying to catch the drops as they fell onto her back. It was weird. Huge splashing drops. At one point she turned around and said, ‘Are you all right?’”

Sweat aside, it seems like Rob’s absolutely fine – in every way – right now.
