Queen Elizabeth may have celebrated her 90th birthday twice last year (you know, just in case anyone missed it) but she has yet to show any sign of slowing down. In fact, it has been revealed that the Queen has bagged herself a second job. Well, sort of.

According to The Telegraph, back in 2011 16,700 chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier vines were planted in Her Majesty’s seven-acre vineyard at Windsor Great Park estate.

Two years later, the grapes were harvested. The English Quality Sparkling Wine was then bottled up and released just in time for Christmas. And according to wine retailer Laithwaite’s, it was a huge success after the sparkling bevvy sold out instantly.

And we’re not surprised, as the wine boasts both ‘richness and finesse’ with an aroma of ‘delicate toasted brioche, apricot and citrus notes’. Only the best for the Royals of course.

And if you missed out, we’re about to break the news you’ve been waiting for, as a second batch is expected to be released later this year priced at just £35 a bottle. Production is set to soar over the next six or seven years too, as the Royals seek to produce 20,000 bottles a year.

That’s plenty of fizz to feed the nation then. You can even pre-order the booze if you simply can't wait.

Bottoms up!
