We love Priyanka Chopra, we really do. So much so that we wrote a love letter to her, constantly praise her style choices and have been following her whirlwind romance with Nick Jonas with a close fondness. But as with many of our faves, there comes a time when we have to call out their odd quirks.
We can’t help but notice, with love, the amount of sponsored content Priyanka and Nick are doing in the run up to their wedding, which is rumoured to take place later this year.
First there was the constant mention of Ralph Lauren in the story about how the couple got close, then Priyanka’s heavily Instagrammed Amsterdam hen do, plus posts from Longchamp, Tiffany and JBL Audio all tagged #ad.
And it’s not just Priyanka that’s using her Instagram feed to show off the brands she’s into, take a look at Nick’s Instagram feed and you’ll find a post displaying gifts for his groomsmen in paid partnership with Lime Bike (#CitrusGotReal, apparently), a Bachelor party weekend pic in partnership with Elit Vodka (#makeitelit guys), and a video of Nick hosting a game of ‘Super Drench Ball’ with Malibu Rum (why? #BecauseSummer), all in the past four months.
And so, the sponsored content continues with an Amazon wedding registry which contains some surprising items. ‘I had so much fun building a wedding registry guide with @amazon. They have everything that you need in one place!’ Priyanka wrote on Instagram. ‘Amazon has also made a $100,000 donation to UNICEF, a charity that is extremely important to me!!! For wedding registry inspo, take a look at my guide (link in bio)!’ It seems that the guide is all about Priyanka, with no mention of Nick, maybe he’ll be compiling his own list soon?
Among the basic entries on the list; a silk eye mask that says ‘Wifey’, because how else would Nick identify her in the middle of the night? A dog raincoat, which is actually kind of adorable, and a KitchenAid, because married life is all about baking?
Weird items include a $300 cool box, a wireless crafting printer (who knew Priyanka was so into her craft projects?!), and a set of pink and green dumbbells. But there are some highly relatable gifts that we'd probably include on our own registry, such as a four piece buffet set (how else do you get the perfect brunch pic?), a set of pearl champagne saucers and a memory foam mattress.
With all these paid partnerships, it's good to see the pair are at least tagging their posts as sponsored - take note influencers!
