Congratulations are in order for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi who have married today. The secret ceremony, at Windsor Castle, was attended by around 20 guests including the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Andrew, as reported by The Sun. Beatrice's mum Fergie, her sister Princess Eugenie and her brother in law Jack Brooksbank are also believed to have attended the ceremony, which had strict social distancing rules.
Due to coronavirus, the wedding - which was supposed to happen at St James's Palace in London in May - was scaled down from 150 guests. The Queen was reportedly driven with Prince Philip from Windsor Castle - where they have been isolating during the pandemic - up the Long Walk and through Windsor Great Park to the private church.
'A massive wedding was out of the question because of coronavirus,' a friend told the paper. 'They were obviously very keen for the Queen to come so the wedding had to happen before she goes up to Balmoral [at the end of the month] so this was a great opportunity.'
The couple announced their engagement last September, with the pair releasing a statement that read: 'We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married.' Edoardo is a multi-millionaire, having founded the property consultancy Banda (it means ‘big shed’ in Swahili) in 2007. The company specialises in finding and developing homes for the super-rich.
