Brace yourself for another royal wedding because Princess Beatrice and property mogul Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are getting married on Friday 29 May 2020. 'The Queen has kindly given permission for the ceremony to take place at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace' reads the announcement on the Royal Family's Instagram feed.
'The ceremony will be followed by a private reception, given by The Queen, in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.'
The couple announced their engagement in September last year.
‘We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement,’ the pair said in a statement. ‘We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.’
And what did Fergie think? Well she gave a joint statement with ex-husband Prince Andrew which reads: ‘We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride. We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.’
Edoardo’s parents – Mrs. Nikki Williams-Ellis and Mr. Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi – were pretty chuffed too, saying; ‘Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life. Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see.’
While Beatrice is a princess, it’s worth noting that her wedding won’t be anywhere near as grand as Kate and William’s or Harry and Meghan’s. Sister Eugenie got married to Jack Brooksbank earlier this year in an relatively low key ceremony at St George's Chapel.
