Such is the national excitement over the prospect of Harry popping the question to his American girlfriend Meghan Markle, that it seems to have become a matter of when rather than if.
Speculation has been rife that the two might make it official ever since Meghan was confirmed as a plus one for Pippa Middleton's wedding in May.
Harry chivalrously undertook an 100-mile round trip to ensure Suits star Meghan could make the evening celebration, in a move many commentators read as a sign of more serious commitments to come.
Now, a royal source suggests Harry is indeed set on making Meghan his fiancée, and plans to get down on one knee before his 33rd birthday.
"Harry has found the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with," an insider told the Mail this weekend. "He is fuelling all the talk about the future."
"There’s no question they are madly in love," another friend added.
"Harry is really happy, and from seeing them together I’d say it’s just a question of when, not if, he’s going to ask her to marry him."
The fifth in line to the British throne turns 33 on 15 September, so - if rumours are to be believed - that gives him just over two months to get the deed sorted.
Harry and Meghan have dated for just over a year after being set up by mutual friends. A few months ago, he presented his LA-born beau with a gold and diamond ring that she wears on her thumb.
The 35-year-old actress recently maintained a dignified silence, albeit with a smile, when she was grilled about her hopes of marrying Harry.
If the happy couple did decide to tie the knot, there are several protocol steps they'd have to negotiate.
Harry would need to get consent from the Queen before arranging a royal wedding; however, it's very unlikely that the monarch would refuse permission, even with the question of Meghan being a divorcee (which has historically caused issues in the royal family).
The prince would also face the task of choosing a ring for his bride-to-be; and, following in Prince William's footsteps, he may go for a family heirloom.
The pair would need to decide on a venue - with Westminster Abbey and St Paul's being strong contenders - and would make a public announcement of their engagement on social media channels.
A joint TV interview would be likely.
