Prince Harry has finally spilled all about the now infamous necklace he accused his older brother William of breaking during a dramatic showdown at his London cottage in 2019.
In extracts leaked from his autobiography Spare a week before it's official publication this week, Harry told of how he and Williamcame to physical blows during a row over Harry’s new wife Meghan, which reportedly escalated to the point that William was shouting and swearing at the Duke of Sussex, before pushing him over and ripping his necklace. (Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have said they will not be making a comment).
‘It all happened so fast. So very fast,’ Harry claims in the book. ‘He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog's bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me.
‘I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.’
Eagle-eyed royal spectators noted that Harry had rarely been seen without a long pendant for nearly two decades, and now the Duke of Sussex has confirmed that this is indeed the jewellery in question.
Speaking to The Late Show host Stephen Colbert on Tuesday - the day after his book officially hit shelves - Harry showed off the 'now fixed' necklace and explained the pendants on it, two of which were the cardiographs of his kids' heartbeats, given to him by his wife.
'And then a friend of mine in Botswana made this for me, which has got tiger's eye in the middle,' he said, showing off the third pendant.

Cast your mind back to a pre-Meghan era Harry and his most substantial relationship was most likely with Chelsy Davy. The couple met on the elite London social scene in the early noughties, and by 2004, a then 20-year-old Harry and Chelsy were officially an item. They dated on and off for seven years, and it was reported by the Daily Mail that Harry’s necklace could have been given by Chelsy as a gift during this time.
After becoming close while Harry was on his gap yah in Africa - where Chelsy’s millionaire dad owns a game reserve - Harry started wearing the silver pendant on a black leather strap, which the Daily Mail speculate is the one allegedly broken by his brother in the row at Nottingham Cottage, on the grounds of Kensington Palace, in 2019.
