In this week's what-the-fresh-hell showbiz news, Piers Morgan and Paris Hilton are technically married. Well, at least according to Piers. Eleven years ago, as part of a TV show, the pair hitched in Vegas to prove how easy it is to get married in the city.

The news has resurfaced as Piers congratulated Paris on herrecent nuptials to Carter Reum - when he expressed shock that Paris had tied the knot without letting him know. 'Thrilled for @ParisHilton about her wedding,' he tweeted, 'but also a little surprised given we’re still technically married…'

We all were reminded of this weird celeb story when Piers and Paris' wedding was shown on Good Morning Britain last year.

Of course, like Lily Allen and David Harbour{ =nofollow}and practically anyone who gets married in Vegas, there an Elvis impersonator involved. At the ceremony, in typical Paris style, she walked down the aisle to Dean Martin’s That’s Amore with her Pomeranian Marilyn as a bridesmaid. Piers has been married to journalist Celia Walden since 2010 - but don't worry, he assured everyone the ceremony to the US reality star wasn't legally binding.

'She's still my wife technically,' the presenter said on GMB. 'We got married in Vegas for a TV show. True story, there's video of it. We had an Elvis lookalike, a Frank Sinatra lookalike, a Marilyn Monroe lookalike. She wore a beautiful bridal gown, brought a dog with her, I got to kiss the bride, we exchanged rings.' Following the nuptials, the pair celebrated at Planet Hollywood - like you do after a Vegas wedding. He further joked: 'It cost $300 and it was all over in 15 minutes. That's my kind of romance.'

Paris has been friends with her new husband Carter, who is thought to be worth $300 million, for 15 years. She told People last year: 'He [Carter] makes me feel safe and happy. I finally found the right one.' Aw.

We'll wait for Paris to respond to Piers.
