Pete Davidson refused to perform at a comedy club on Sunday night - and it was kinda because of his former flames Ariana Grande and Kate Beckinsale. The SNL comedian wouldn’t perform at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in Bridgeport, Connecticut, as he accused the owner of making 'disrespectful comments' about his ex-girlfriends.
Just before he was about to get on stage, the owner Vinnie Brand embarassed Pete by saying, 'Don’t ask any questions about his exes Ariana Grande or Kate Beckinsale.' (In a separate video published by TMZ, the owner insisted that ‘there is no way in the world I would ever disrespect any comedian.’) A source told US Weekly, ‘Pete was not about to let this guy ruin his show, disrespect him, and abuse the names of women Pete respects and cares about. He’s happy and has been really enjoying traveling and doing shows. It’s sad that people like this club owner would pull a stunt like this just to bring attention to himself and his club.’
In a video posted on Instagram, Pete said, ‘Hey guys of Connecticut, I’m sorry that we had to leave the show before I got to go on. The owner Vinnie Brand disrespected me and did something I told him not to do and I can’t perform under those circumstances.’ He also assured fans that he would still perform for them, adding, ‘Everyone who got tickets for that show, I am doing a free show for you guys and we’ll figure out where it’s gonna be.’
Pete and Ariana were engaged for five months in 2018, before they split in October last year. He dated Hollywood actress Kate Beckinsale earlier this year, where they were pictured snogging at a hockey game in March. In February, he kicked out an audience member from a stand-up show after they made a joke about the late Mac Miller, one of Ariana’s ex-boyfriends.
