Did Paris Hilton Stage Her Engagement Pictures?

You’ve all heard about it, and if you haven’t you’ve more than likely seen it, her ring is impossible to miss. YAS, the queen of all that is hot, Paris Hilton, has got engaged to her actor boyfriend Chris Zylka.

The self-titled Barbie and Ken met eight years ago at an Oscars party but didn’t start dating until two years ago, making their relationship social media official in February last year.

Social media pro that she is, Paris posted some adorable engagement pictures to announce the occasion. But in what seems to be unwritten rules for social media, the pictures don’t seem quite real. At least, they definitely do not match up to the video she uploaded after…

Fans were quick to notice discrepancies between the video and the pictures themselves, which are gloriously posed, perfectly framed and unbelievably lit. In comparison to the video, which is dimly lit and shows Chris walking off almost immediately after proposing, things just don’t quite add up.

Whether one of them were staged, or both of them if we’re being super cynical (she barely seems shocked in the video), if you can’t ask your soon-to-be husband to recreate some engagement pictures on top of a mountain in Aspen, what can you do?

The ring alone is enough to warrant a full photoshoot, a 20-carat center stone set on a platinum split shank halo band with two extra carats of smaller diamonds that ring experts estimate cost close to $2 million. We’d be getting our boyfriend to re-propose too if we had that on our finger…

Regardless of whether the Instagram posts were real or not, the engagement looked absolutely magical and has well and truly brightened up our January blues. Congratulations, Paris and Chris!
