Say the name Paris Hilton, and 'great cook' is not exactly what comes to mind. An heiress to the Hilton hotel fortune, Paris has always presented herself as slightly, well, clueless, particularly through her work on The Simple Life, which saw her career across America causing havoc with then-best-friend Nicole Ritchie. But we have to say, we may have underestimated her. She may be the new Nigella Lawson.
Paris has started a new YouTube series called Cooking With Paris which, we imagine, will do exactly what it says on the tin. At this point, we don't know what culinary delights await us. But she has started with lasagne. Give it a look:
'At home, about to film a new @YouTube video of me cooking my infamous lasagna!', she wrote on Twitter. The resulting video is almost sixteen minutes of enlightening footage, which sees her wear stylish fingerless gloves while grating cheese, adding pasta to a pot of cold water, and wearing sunglasses while she chops onions (which, we have to say, is a little bit genius.)
Paris isn't the only star to use social media to share kitchen wisdom. Actresses Jennifer Gardner, Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Michelle Gellar have all used Instagram to teach their followers a few things about cooking. But Paris is definitely the most fabulous so far.
What's next for Cooking With Paris? We're praying that she will enlist her famous friends to drop in to share their own favourite foods. Could Nicole whip up a stroganoff? Could Kim Kardashian make a tiramisu? Someone needs to commission this for television immediately.
