Comedian Paige Ginn posted a video from her gender reveal party yesterday, where she can be seen farting blue powder for the announcement. The video has since garnered half a million views on Instagram alone, with near 400,000 comments on her Facebook post too. Evidently, people have a lot to say about a gender reveal fart.
Ginn is an American comedian, self-described as ‘that girl who fake falls in public’. Inserting some of that humour into her gender reveal (pun-intended), Ginn can be seen lying on the floor in the video of her announcement. With pink and blue balloons hung up behind her, Ginn waits a moment before farting blue smoke – to which her friends burst out screaming at the reveal.
Just this week, there was a plane crash at a gender reveal when a crop duster intending to drop gallons of blue water on the party stalled mid-air and crashed – causing minor injuries to the passenger. And last month, a woman died at a gender reveal after a couple used explosives as part of the announcement.
So yes, a blue powder fart isn't your typical reveal. But, given that gender reveal parties are a) arbitrary and b) seem to only result in damage or danger these days, so given that it didn't result in a massive wildfire, it’s not the most ridiculous announcement we’ve ever seen.
