Timothée Chalamet arrived at the Oscars without his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, in yet another solo red-carpet appearance. While Jenner is at the awards ceremony seated next to Chalamet - with the adorable duo engaging in much PDA throughout the ceremony - the pair are still yet to make their red carpet debut together.
Why? Well, Kymothée are strategic about their public appearances. While Jenner attended the Los Angeles premiere of A Complete Unknown in January, she didn’t walk the carpet with Chalamet and he skirted round questions about her on the red carpet. She also attended the BAFTAs with Chalamet, but didn’t walk the carpet then either.

‘It’s obvious they have an agreement not to make their relationship front and centre, they clearly want to maintain their own identities,’ a source told Grazia. ‘They make a concerted effort to stay out of each other’s limelight, that’s the new way of doing things for these Gen-Z A-list couples in Hollywood. They don’t want to have to offer up every detail of their private life in exchange for publicity. They’ve seen the perils of that and how damaging it can be to a public-facing relationship.’
That doesn’t mean the relationship isn’t for real though. ‘Kylie and Timmy are in it for the long haul,’ the source continued. ‘A lot of people, even in their inner circle, doubted whether this would be more than a fling, including Travis [Scott], the father of her children. Kylie’s gone above and beyond to win over Timothée’s family and it’s paying off. She’s become friends with his sister Pauline and it’s very clear that they see this as a long-term relationship.’
Still, they would be remiss not to leverage the business potential of their combined star power. The next step for them, the source says, could be collaborating on a fashion project - an industry where male actors often struggle to find a foothold. ‘Kylie will be invaluable if and when Timmy goes down that road with her,’ the insider continues. ‘Timmy’s made millions from acting, but his fortune is minuscule compared to Kylie’s and transforming raw fame into cold, hard cash is something she’s been doing for more than 10 years now.’
It’s certainly true that, despite some fans questioning what the pair have in common, they each raise the profile of the other. While Chalamet’s acting credentials and charismatic charm reflects well on Jenner, she’s made him markedly more famous in the mainstream and look less ‘self-absorbed’ at the same time, the source adds.
In that respect, they are the ultimate power couple. ‘Their relationship really works. And their brand only gets stronger the longer they’re together.’
