Last Friday, the First Family sent out their annual Christmas card to friends, family and fellow politicians (we're presuming ours got lost in the post). But this was no ordinary card, as it marked their final festive furore from the White House. And it's bound to bring a tear to your eye.

Every year, the Obama family feature a picture of their dogs, Sunny and Bo, on the front of their Christmas card. But the President broke tradition for his final card and this year, decided to include a photograph of his family.

The photo was taken at the Canadian State Dinner back in March, the first event of the kind that Malia and Sasha have ever attended.

Inside, the message reads: “As our family reflects on our many happy years spent in the White House, we are grateful for the friends we’ve made, the joy we’ve shared and the gifts of kindness we’ve received.”

And if you think that is too much sentiment to handle then wait until you realise that the Obamas' dogs also signed the card with their paws. Too. Much.

With Donald Trump set to be inaugurated on 20 January 2017, it was undoutedly a sorrowful reminder that it’s our final few weeks with the Obama family.

And the internet couldn’t handle the emotion, prompting the hashtag #DontLeave to trend on Twitter.

We couldn't have put it better ourselves.
