From Victoria Beckham's hugely sucessful fashion line, to David Beckham's footballing career and fine line in endorsements, plus young members of the family like Brooklyn already making it as a model, it's no surprise that the Beckham clan as a whole are making a fortune.
But experts at the London School of Marketing have estimated the total worth of the family - and they think that brand Beckham is now worth half a billion pounds, and generates £30 to £40 million per year. Yep, that's a LOT of cash.
The research was compiled by analysing how different business ventures owned by the family perform, alongside the marketing "value" of David, Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
The experts concluded that the "power" of Brand Beckham resides in three corporations owned by the family: Footworks, where David’s football related revenues are collated (worth £150 million), the Beckham label, for all their endorsements (£70 million), and Beckham Venture, for Victoria’s fashion business (£60 million). Add that to the family's non-business assets (estimated at £190 million) and the family's total value is £470 million.
Interestingly, the research concludes that David's 'brand' has become* more* lucrative since he gave up his footballing career - and predicts that Beckham Ventures could triple in value this year.
Chief Marketing Officer at the London School of Marketing, Anton Dominique, commented:
“After the Royals, the Beckhams are Britain’s most recognisable family with a global pulling power which is almost second to none.”
He added: “What is also interesting is that the family name is almost as influential as any individual family member. Additionally the Beckham name has the Midas touch when it comes to advertising, even the mere mention of their name associated with a brand is a small news event in itself"
We wonder how this prediction will develop as younger members of the Beckham clan move on up in the world - Brooklyn recently revealed he wants to go into photography and film. But David won't be raking his millions in from acting - he recently revealed he wasn't looking to become an actor, after rumours he could become James Bond.
