Millie Bobby Brown debuted a new blonder look at the premier for her new film, The Electric State, and many think it could be a nod to another project she’s hopeful to star in— the Britney Spears biopic.

Universal Pictures acquired the rights to Britney Spears’s 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, in August 2024, and fans of the star were quick to speculate on who would take on the role of the iconic singer.

Millie Bobby Brown rose to fame playing Eleven on Netflix’s Stranger Things, and has since landed herself on Time 100 list of the world's most influential people and become the youngest ever UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. She has starred in big-budget projects like Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), Enola Holmes (2020) and Damsel (2024), but has yet to get a biopic under her belt.

The 21-year-old actress, who attended the L.A. premier with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, made no secret of her ambitions to play the pop star.

When asked if she was interested in possibly portraying Britney, Millie replied, ‘Nothing would make me happier than being able to play such an iconic, beautiful person. I’ll leave that to the gods.’

When the question cropped up again on the same red carpet, Millie once again made her dream known. She said, ‘I mean, she’s an absolute icon. I’d love nothing more than to be a part of her story. But that’s her story, and I’m in full support of her bringing her story to life, how she wants to.’

This isn’t the first time the young star has made it clear that she’s manifesting the role. She originally threw her hat in the ring back in 2022 on The Drew Barrymore Show. The then 19-year-old told Drew, ‘I want to play a real person, and I think for me, Britney Spears would be [the one]. I think her story, first of all, resonates with me… I don’t know her, but when I look at pictures of her, I feel like I could tell her story in the right way, and hers only.’

Millie might not be the only young starlet with hopes of portraying the Oops!... I Did It Again singer in the upcoming biopic— which will be directed by _Wicked'_s Jon M. Chu.

Many thought that Diet Pepsi singer Addison Rae was purposefully drawing parallels between her and Spears after she was spotted walking around L.A. reading the star’s memoir. However, in late 2024 Addison denied the similarities, and revealed that she did not see herself playing the star. She said, ‘I honestly don’t think anyone deserves to play her. She’s such an enigma and such an icon. I don’t even think it’s right to compare me to her at all. I think she really, really created something that is untouchable and so in its own lane that nobody will ever truly be able to replicate what she did for music, and even the entertainment industry.’

Other possible contenders, according to fans, are Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae— who Spears called an ‘incredible performer’ and even interviewed her for V MagazineSydney Sweeney, Elle Fanning, and Dove Cameron. While Millie Bobby Brown is the only one to outwardly admit she’d love the role, only time will tell who gets to portray the Princess of Pop.
