Sometimes, okay, very often, two talented, good-looking celebrities get into a relationship with one another and everyone becomes invested. When rumours first surfaced that two cast members of season two of The White Lotus were dating in real life, it was no different, especially when they turned out to be Meghann Fahy and Leo Woodall.

Since meeting on the set of the HBO murder mystery, both Meghann and Leo's careers have gone from strength to strength. In February, Leo was the breakout star of Netflix's adaptation of One Day, alongside Ambika Mod. His role as Dexter Mayhew cemented his status as a Hollywood heartthrob and when news broke that he'd been cast as Bridget Jones' love interest in the upcoming fourth film, it did nothing to hurt his standing.

As for Meghann, she's currently starring in another murder mystery, The Perfect Couple, opposite Nicole Kidman, Eve Hewson, Liev Schreiber and Dakota Fanning. The six-part series is available to stream on Netflix now.

But enough about their individual successes, let's take a look at their relationship timeline...

How did Meghann Fahy and Leo Woodall meet?

Leo and Meghann met in Italy on set of season two of Mike White's hit series, The White Lotus. Meghann played Daphne Sullivan, the wife of Theo James' character, Cameron. While Leo Woodall played Jack, the Essex-born 'nephew' of the mob leader, Quentin, played by Tom Hollander. Of course, he turned out not to be his nephew at all.

Filming took place at the Four Seasons San Domenico Hotel in Taormina, on the Italian island of Sicily. Apparently, the cast stayed at the hotel during filming at the start of 2022 so there was plenty of time to spark up a romance with a fellow cast member – even ones they weren't in any scenes with.

When did Meghann Fahy and Leo Woodall start dating?

Rumour has it the couple hit it off right away, which means they probably started dating in February or March 2022. In September that year, Leo shared a The White Lotus photo dump on his Instagram page, including a picture with Meghann, with the caption 'that's amore'.

In December 2022, after the season finale, Meghann shared her own BTS photo dump captioned 'Sizzley Sicily' and, of course, it featured a few photos of Leo.

Then in January 2023, Meghann appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and was asked directly if the rumours about her and Leo dating were true. She said, 'Oh, I don’t kiss and tell. Come on, guys.' Cohen then asked again and she said, 'For you, I’ll say sure,' before quickly adding, 'I was kidding! Just because you wanted me to say it, so I said it. … We’re friends.'

The following month, the unconfirmed couple made their first red carpet appearance together at the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

July 2023 was much the same. Leo and Meghann atteneded the South Bank Sky Arts Awards in London and an Entertainment Tonight reporter asked, 'Have you seen romance come out of The White Lotus? Meghann jokingly responded, 'I don’t know anything. Never heard of it. Never seen it. What is that show?'

It wasn't until November 2023 that the couple were spotted kissing in New York under an umbrella. Doesn't sound like friendship to us!

When did Meghann Fahy and Leo Woodall go Instagram official?

After all the teasing and speculation, by February 2024, Meghann was ready to stamp her mark. She posted a photo of her and Leo walking into the distance with their arms around each other. Coincidentally, that's the same month One Day aired on Netflix and Leo amassed one million followers on Instagram – many of whom are female admirers.

However, Leo playfully commented, 'who is he?!', which received upwards of 10,000 likes. Fans respected Meghann's move, with one writing 'EXACTLY QUEEN!! THAT'S YOUR MAN', another writing 'she really said – back off' and another simply commenting, 'finally'.

While that's all the internet needed to confirm that the two are an item, they still tend to keep most details about their relationship private. In August, Meghann made a rare comment about One Day while speaking to Vanity Fair and said, 'I thought it was incredibly well done from top to bottom, and obviously the performances were my favourite part.'
