Meghan Markle Makes Rookie Fashion Mistake In Tonga

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue their royal tourwith a visit to Tonga, after arriving at Fua’amotu Airport on Thursday all eyes were on Meghan’s £400 pleated Self Portrait gown.

Either she really wanted us to know it was from Self Portrait or she had been in a bit of a rush to get ready, because the label was still attached to the hem of her dress.

With such a packed schedule on their tour, we don’t blame her – we’ve often been out of an evening, wondering what on earth that scratchy feeling on our back is only to reach down our dress and fish out a large label we forgot was there.

The Duchess of Sussex teamed the embroidered dress, which is of course sold out, with a pair of Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps she’s worn on the tour already and a £640 satin Christian Dior clutch bag with bee detailing.

This dress could be further evidence of Meghan’s aptitiude for referential dressing – as it’s the same shade as the flag of Tonga, the bright blue dress by British label Safiyaa that she wore to a state dinner in Fiji was a similar shade to the Fijian flag.

Label or no label people lined the streets to greet Harry and Meghan with gifts, ballons and flags to welcome to couple, before the pair were whisked off for a private audience with His Majesty King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipauu.

While in Tonga the couple will continue their tour by visiting a cultural exhibit, hanging out at a school with an onsite forest, and meeting local traders.
