Meghan Markle has been hailed as a 'global leader' in a new photo shoot for Vanity Fair, joining the likes of fellow actress Emma Watson and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The photos, which can be found in the newly released April edition of Vanity Fair, accompany a feature which celebrates the 'leaders of tomorrow. They were shot last October at the One Young World forum in Ottowa, Canada, an event which brought together 1,300 young leaders from around the world to discuss the challenges we face on a global scale.
Actress and activist Meghan was invited along to the event in her capacity as a UN advocate for women's leadership and political participation. Writing on her blog The Tig at the time, she explained: 'When I was asked to be a Counsellor at One Young World my response was a resounding "Yes."
'One Young World invites young adults from all over the world who are actively working to transform the socio-political landscape by being the greater good. They are delegates who are speaking our against human rights violations, environmental crises, gender equality issues, discrimination and injustice. They are the change,' she added.
Photographed in a simple white shift dress, Meghan posed alongside other inspirational women: former President of Ireland Mary Robinson, poet Fatima Bhutto and Loujain al-Hathloul, an advocate for women's rights.
Elsewhere in the shoot, Emma Watson was pictured with participants of her Emma Watson Scholarship Scheme, which celebrates those who are doing important work to bring about gender quality.
Emma was also photographed in a different group, alongside Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Nobel Peace Prize winner Kofi Annan, as well as the founders of One Young World, Kate Robertson and David Jones.
