Ever since it was confirmed last year that Prince Harry was dating Suits actress Meghan Markle, we have been excited to see their relationship go from strength to strength. There has been speculation that a Royal engagement is on the horizon after the couple made their first public appearance at the Invictus games in Toronto and met the Queen for afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace.
While Meghan and Harry have tried their best to keep out the public eye, this Saturday we will get an exclusive chance to learn more about the royal couple thanks to a Channel 4 documentary titled When Harry Met Meghan: A Royal Romance.
The show will give viewers access into Markle’s life, including her childhood in Los Angeles, her career as an actress, her humanitarian work - including her role as a spokeswoman for charities such as One Young World - and will also trace her ancestry using genealogical research.
The hour long documentary will also delve into Markle's relationship with Britain's most eligible bachelor Prince Harry, giving viewers an insight into how they met and her on her possible future role in the Royal Family.
The film was also feature interviews with her friends and colleagues and insight from royal experts. It is not entirely clear whether Markle has had any involvement in this documentary, or will be participating in its production.
Markle's association with Prince Harry and the Royal Family has not been plain sailing. The news of the documentary comes just months after it was reported by The Daily MailThe Daily Mail that Markle’s estranged half-sister, Samantha Grant, is writing a ‘tell-all’ book about what it was like growing up with Markle.
Markle has also been the target of abusive trolling and media criticism because of her race, to which the Palace condemned ‘the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.'
The actress has since spoken out about how racial discrimination has affected her career, and often finds that her skin tone is changed and her freckles have been air brushed in photo shoots.
