It sounds like a joke, doesn't it? 'Win the chance to spend time with Leonardo DiCaprio.' But trust us on this one, it's not. And you could be the lucky winner, so long as you have two things. Thing one: Access to the internet. (TICK!) Thing two: a whopping bank balance. (CRIES!)
Tomorrow night, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Auction Gala takes place in St. Tropez, and prizes for the auction this year are even bigger and better than ever before. Would you fancy taking your BFF to the US Open Men's Tennis Final as A GUEST OF LEO, for instance, and spending the day with him in a private box?
No, we didn't think so.
Other prizes include lunch with Hollywood starlet Margot Robbie, hosting Kevin Spacey in your house for a private theatrical performance, spending a year as a guest of Harvey Weinstein (the Hollywood mega producer) accompanying him to such events as, hmmmmm, the Academy Awards in LA, the Cannes Film Festival and Met Gala, and spending a week on the set of The Irishman with director, Martin Scorcese. (The film stars Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino.)
Any of those sound tempting? No, thought not.
Perhaps, in that case, you might be interested in something you can display at home, like in a cabinet or something – Leo's 18K white gold daytona Rolex or the 18K white gold with diamond cufflinks he wore when he picked up his Oscar earlier this year?
No?!
Ummm... the canteen, blanket and knife belt he used in The Revenant?
For serious art collectors, there are works by Picasso, Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst on offer, and for film buffs, props such as Arnold Schwarzenegger's sword from Conan the Barbarian too. Personally, we're rather tempted by the week's holiday at Leo's home in Palm Springs for us and 11 of our very special (and exceedingly lucky) friends...
All money raised from the auction will go towards supporting and funding more than 112 'cutting-edge projects' dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of the planet. Such initiatives 'directly address our climate crisis while protecting threatened ecosystems, endangered wildlife and indigenous communities in 48 countries and all 5 oceans,' Leo writes in the auction letter.
'We are extremely proud of all that we have achieved,' he adds, 'but the threat facing our planet remains enormous – and time is quickly running out. The next several years are critical. We can move our planet in the right direction, but there is a lot of work to be done.'
If you're feeling rich and would like to place a bid, log on to de-pury.com tomorrow at 8pm BST, and get bidding. Though if you want to be in for a chance of winning, as Leo says, 'bid high' – we reckon there'll be a fair amount of competition.
